WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cranston woman is facing a felony domestic assault charge after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the face with a kitchen knife.

31-year-old Cosmia Andrews is scheduled to appear in Kent County Court Tuesday afternoon.

Warwick Police received a 911 call from the Speedway gas station on Post Road after a man bleeding profusely from the face entered the store trying to buy cigarettes.

After emergency responders arrived on the scene, investigators discovered that the man had driven from Cranston to Warwick after being assaulted by his girlfriend.

According to Cranston police, Anderson slashed her boyfriend’s face with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute in her apartment at 2015 Broad Street in Cranston.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The Cranston crime scene investigation unit was on scene at the gas station and the apartment complex throughout the morning.
