PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Wednesday’s weather was a perfect pairing for the state's 16th Annual Agriculture Day.
The event promotes growing and buying local.
Farmers, food producers, and distributors from across the state, were there to display and talk about their work with the public.
Not to mention, provide some yummy samples.
This year's "Local Agriculture and Seafood Act" grant winners were also announced.
"And really what's inside it is an actionable strategy or plan of how we are going to help strengthen Rhode Island's food economy over the next several years. We have three core themes around strengthening public health and equitable access to food, environmental sustainability and resiliency, and also enhance economic opportunities in the state," said Sue Anderbois, Rhode Island Food and Strategy Director .
The State has a website where you can look over the food strategy. You can find it here.
