Butler Hospital out-patient steals ambulance

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A 35-year-old man is not facing any charges, despite stealing an ambulance from Butler Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Providence Police told ABC6 News an out-patient took off in an ambulance around 3:30 p.m.

The ambulance was able to be tracked via GPS, and found unoccupied, at the intersection of President and Wayland Avenues.

Providence Police added, the 35-year-old approached officers in the area showing concerning behavior, and he was subsequently transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

Butler Hospital has declined to press charges.

No further information is available at this time.
