LEBANON, N.H. (WLNE) — Authorities have identified the suspect and victim of a active shooter incident that occurred at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Tuesday afternoon.

Travis Frink, 49, of Warwick was identified as the man who murdered 70-year-old Pamela Ferriere, his mother, while she was a patient in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Frink is charged with first degree murder.

Frink entered the medical center around 1:15 p.m., officials said, and reports of shots fired came in at 1:24 p.m.

“Facts gathered to this point reveal that the purpose of Mr. Frink’s visit to hospital was to kill his mother. The crime scene is still being investigated. More than one shot was fired. No other patients, visitors, or staff were physically injured,” said New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald.

The hospital was placed on lockdown until around of 5:45 p.m., authorities noted that once the lockdown was lifted, employees were to return to their duties, but to expect security team presence.

“Over 100 police, fire, other emergency officials from N.H. and V.T., and New Hampshire State Police, today's response would not have been possible without help from partners and support from community and law enforcement and firefighter community. This is why we train for the things we train for. This was true test. Our thoughts are with victim and family,” said Lebanon Police Chief Richard Mello.

Frink was driving a 2014 Ford Focus with Rhode Island plates when he was stopped.

Rhode Island State Police told ABC6 News they utilized their Fusion Center to identify Frink using his license plates.

Frink is expected to appear in Grafton County Superior Court in Haverhill on Wednesday.
