SEEKONK, M.A. (WLNE) — The 911 call system for the town of Seekonk is fully operational after being down for a period of time on Tuesday.

“Due to equipment failure within the 911 system at the Public Safety Complex our 911 phone system is down at this time. The Communications Department is working with the Massachusetts State 911 Department and the system’s vendor to correct this problem as quickly as possible,” said Seekonk Police Chief Craig Mace.

The call system was back up and running around 6:30 p.m.

All 911 calls that came in during the outage from the town were rerouted to the Rehoboth Police Department.

“Residents should not experience any loss of 911 services,” Mace said. “If anyone has difficulty connecting to 911 please contact the Communications Center using our business lines at 508-336-8123 option “0”.”

No further information is available at this time.
