PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Authorities say a 37-year-old woman has been struck and killed on a Rhode Island interstate highway.

State police say Ebony M. Evans, who had no permanent address, was struck on Interstate 95 in Pawtucket at about 11 p.m. Thursday. They say it appears she was hit by oncoming traffic in the southbound travel lanes.

Pawtucket fire officials say the victim was found dead at the scene and appeared to have been hit by at least two vehicles after running onto the highway.

No other injuries were reported.
