FALL RIVER, R.I. (WLNE) – On Highland Avenue Thursday morning, a fatal accident occurred between a motorcycle and a box truck.
Around 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, a box truck was making a turn but the motorcyclist didn’t have time to stop, creating a 25 to 30-yard skid mark, before hitting the passenger side of the box truck.
The motorcyclist, Christopher P. Mills, 29, of Taunton was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 7 a.m.
The driver of the truck, Irvin Dominguez-Cruz, 37, was not injured during the crash.
He was later arrested at this home in Fall River, and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle homicide by means of negligent operation, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and failure to yield to an oncoming vehicle.
Police are still conducting an extensive investigation on this crash.
Dominguez-Cruz is scheduled to be arraigned in the Fall River District Court on Friday June 15.
