ORLEANS, Mass. (WLNE) – The Fire Rescue team of a Cape Cod town has teamed up with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy to offer shark attack first-aid training sessions in October and November.

Following a summer of increased shark sightings and two shark attacks off Cape Cod coasts, the Town of Orleans Fire Rescue and Natural Resource department is working with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy to offer first aid training to citizens hoping to learn about how to react after an encounter with a shark.

The program, called “Stop the Bleed,” will have three training sessions on October 18, November 1, and November 8 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chatham Shark Center.

The training sessions are free and open to the public.
