ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) – Two people were injured in an overnight rollover crash in Attleboro, officials say.

Attleboro Fire Department responded to the area of Thatcher Street and South Main Street just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday for reports of a single-car crash.

Firefighters on scene discovered a Jaguar convertible that had crashed and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof.

Fire officials said a 38-year-old female passenger from Pawtucket was trapped unconscious in the back seat of the convertible.

Firefighters extracted the woman from the vehicle and she was transported to a nearby hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 39-year-old man from Attleboro, was able to free himself from the vehicle before firefighters arrived on scene. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Attleboro Police assisted in closing off roads while crews worked to assist the victims.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
