Burrillville, R.I. (WLNE) - A man involved in a four car accident Wednesday evening has died.

39-year-old Ryan Ferris, a member of the Harrisville Fire Fighters, has died as a result of this accident. 

The crash occurred on the intersection of Route 102 ( Broncos Highway) and Route 107 (East Avenue), according to Burrillville police.

Police say four vehicles were involved and two appeared to be heavily damaged in the middle of the road.

A one passenger vehicle and a commercial box truck went off the roadway, with the passenger, Ferris, pinned underneath the box truck.

He initially suffered serious injuries after being extricated from his vehicle, according to police.

He was then transported to R.I. Hospital via Life Flight where he was later pronounced dead.

The other subjects involved appeared to have minor injuries.

R.I. State Police are assisting Burrillville police as the crash is still under investigation.
