Former RI Supreme Court Justice: Robert Flanders, Part I

July 6, 2008

Jim Hummel

He has one of the most diverse resumes of anyone you'll ever meet.  After all, who in Rhode Island gives up a lifetime appointment to the state's highest court, not to mention the judicial license plate, and the great parking spot?

Robert Flanders did just that when he left the state supreme court to go back into private practice 4 years ago.  Last year Governor Carcieri appointed him as chairman of the Board of Regents for elementary and secondary educaton.  He recently gave a speech at the convention center titled: `My impression of public education in Rhode Island after a year on the job'.

Now we find out what those impressions are, as we welcome Robert Flanders to '6 News on the Record'...
