My mom has been there for my sister and me through childhood and adulthood. She is always there for us know matter what. She and my dad let me come home and live with them after an 8 year marriage broke up. They had just sold my chilhhood home and downsized to a much smaller home. Both my mom and dad were at the hospital a lot when my 21/2 year old daughter had brain surgery for seizures.
She and my dad have helped my sister and her family. I know when my niece was young maybe age 2 or 3, she was diagnosed with juvenill arthritis. My parents paid for her physical threpay. Although money is not the only way that my mom helps us. She comes to celebrations, she also will listen and talk to my sister and me about our concerns for our families. We have learned something important from my mom. That something is un-conditional love. Pareting skills may change, but un-conditional love never does. Lately, I was complimented at what a lovely little girl I have. I said, "I had a great role model to show me how to me a good mom." I know my sister feels the same way.
It hasn't been a bowl full of cherries for my mom either. She has many health issues. I will name a few. She needs to be checked on a regular basis for heart related issues. She has beaten breast and bone cancer. Currently she is borderline diabetic. She gets frustrated with what she can and can't eat. After she vents her frustration, she will say that there is someone who is worse off than she is.
My mom and dad have been married for 52 years come this November. Just another good example on how we should live our lives. Thanks so much mom!!!!
My mom really deserves this makeover.
