1 Man Dead in Burrillville Crash

One man is dead and another woman is injured after their cars collided in Burrillville, early this morning.

According to a report from Burrillville Police, Michael A. Pavoni, 38, of Northbridge, Mass. was pronounced dead when he arrived at U MASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Police say he had been speeding–his vehicle registered 71 MPH shortly before the crash. ABC6 News does not yet know what the speed limit was in the area where Pavoni was.

Police say just after 1:00 a.m., Pavoni passed Burrillville Police Officer Kyle Genereux at a high speed. The officer saw Pavoni's vehicle turn a corner and disappear.

When the officer turned the corner, he saw a two-car collision. One of the vehicles belonged to Pavoni. The other belonged to Debra Alles, 57, of Pascoag. She sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to Fatima hospital by Pascoag Police.

Burrillville Police say Pavoni was partially ejected from the vehicle and sustained multiple injuries. He died of those injuries while being taken to U MASS Memorial Medical Center.
