1 flown, 2 others taken to hospital in serious Coventry crash

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — A woman was flown and two others were taken to the hospital after a crash in Coventry Wednesday morning.

The two-car crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. on Arnold Road.

Capt. Benjamin Witt said the woman was flown to Rhode Island Hospital.

Fire Chief Frank Brown said the woman’s mother, who was in the passenger seat, was unharmed but taken to the hospital as she was “suffering from shock.”

The other driver, an elderly man, had suffered a medical emergency before the crash. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

All three people involved are stable, said Brown. Their names weren’t immediately released.

The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately known.
