“1-in-a-100 million catch” Cotton Candy Lobster caught in Portland, Maine

Portland, Maine (WLNE)- Haddie, a Cotton Candy colored lobster, was caught in Portland, Maine.

A “Cotton Candy” lobster is one of the rarest lobsters with an iridescent opal-like shade resulting from a genetic mutation.

A lobsterman for Great Maine Lobster, Bill Coppersmith, caught the lobster last weekend in Casco Bay. They decided on the name, Haddie, for Bill’s granddaughter.

Get Maine Lobster is speaking to local organizations and aquariums that would be interested in adopting her to live out the rest of her life.
