1 injured in Providence shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police say a person suffered a gunshot wound to the chest after a shooting Thursday night.

Officers were called to a reported shooting at about 8:20 p.m. in the area of Smith and Holden streets.

Police found one person with a gunshot wound to the chest, and rushed them to a nearby hospital. No further information on the person’s condition was immediately available.

No arrests were made.

The shooting is under investigation.
