1 killed in New Bedford shooting

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office said one man was killed in a shooting in New Bedford Monday night.

According to investigators, a man was shot in his Dodge Charger around 11 p.m. on Dunbar Street.

He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead early Tuesday morning.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim as Derek Pires, 29, of Fall River.

No arrests have been announced and the shooting is still under investigation.
