1 person dead after being hit by train in Bourne

BOURNE, Mass. (WLNE) — The Bourne Police Department announced Monday night that its investigating a fatal incident where a train struck a person and killed them.

According to police, the person, who is unidentified at this time, was killed in the area of Aptucxet Trading Post and Perry Avenue.

Police are asking commuters to avoid the area.

Photographer David Curran captured aerial video of a stopped train and multiple emergency vehicles parked on the street running parallel to the tracks. Police were also seen investigating the wooded areas around the tracks.

Officials said information regarding the incident will be released as the investigation continues.
