SALEM, Mass. (WLNE)- A plane carrying 100 cats from Kentucky landed at Bedford Airport on Wednesday morning.

The cats were living at the Kentucky Human Society and were moved in order to make room for other animals who lost their homes because of the tornados.

Once the cats landed, 22 of them were taken to MSPCA-Cape Cod in Centerville, and the rest were taken to the Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem.

The cats will be eligible to be adopted following a 48-hour quarantine period.
