10,000 masks distributed in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I (WLNE) –  10,000 free reusable cloth masks will be distributed to Pawtucket and Central Falls residents and businesses this coming weekend.

The City of Pawtucket, the Pawtucket Police Department, Pawtucket and Central Falls Health Equity Zone (HEZ), and project health made the announcement on Monday afternoon.

Masks will be distributed on Saturday, September 5th from 11 A.M – 1 P.M across from Pawtucket City Hall.

“Together, we need to continue practicing social distancing and must wear masks or face coverings to minimize the spread of the coronavirus,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien.

“The City is pleased to partner with HEZ and Project Health CV to distribute free masks this Labor Day weekend”, he continued.

Project Health CV has hosted a number of mask distribution events through Central Falls and Pawtucket.

HEZ provided tens of thousands of masks to both cities and a number of organizations.
