10th suspect may have helped plan Ortiz shooting, prosecutors say

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) – A tenth person has been arrested in connection with the shooting of former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz.
Prosecutors believe the suspect may have been involved in the planning of the failed assassination attempt against Ortiz.
They said Gabriel Alexander Perez Vizcaino, known as “The Bone”, communicated with one of two prison inmates who are now being charged.
Prosecutors believe one of those inmates gave him a photo of the Red Sox icon and worked with some of the other suspects to arrange the assassination plot.
Vizcaino turned himself into police Friday, one of ten people, including the gunman, who have been arrested.
Police are still looking for an eleventh suspect.
Ortiz is in recovery at Massachusetts General Hospital. A statement released Tuesday on behalf of his wife Tiffany said that Ortiz’s condition has been upgraded to “good”.
