12 people displaced after fire in Fall River

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Twelve people are displaced after a house fire in Fall River on Thursday afternoon.

The fire department received a call for a kitchen fire on the second floor of a multi-family home on Rodman Street.

First responders said they were also prepared for a search and rescue mission, but that was later cancelled after the missing person arrived unharmed.

They said when they arrived, smoke was visible from outside as the fire spread from the second to the third floor.

None of the residents were injured, but one parrot died in the blaze.

The American Red Cross are assisting the 12 people displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
