A fire tore through a Providence triple decker Sunday night leaving 13 people homeless, 8 of them children.

All the tenants of the triple-decker home on Daboll Street were able to evacuate unharmed but firefighters say the home will be a total loss.

A fire fighter suffered from what is believed to be a broken foot during the efforts to extinguish the fire. He was treated at Rhode Island Hospital.

At this time the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, however, the matter remains under investigation.

The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.
