15 arrests in Central Falls prostitution sting

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. – The Central Falls Police Department announced Saturday morning that an undercover prostitution sting conducted Friday night has yielded 15 arrests.

The type of sting that police conducted Friday is known as a “john sting”, in which two undercover female police officers pose as prostitutes and position themselves in areas of the city known for prostitution, according to Central Falls police.

Police say the operation lasted about six hours, during which multiple individuals solicited the undercover officers for “indecent acts” in exchange for money.

According to police, six of the men arrested were from Central Falls. The rest were from surrounding cities and towns.

The following people were arrested in the sting:

  • Karim Yusef Abdul, 24, of Coventry
  • David Case, 59, of Pawtucket
  • Hady Coumbassa, 22, of Pawtucket
  • Frank Gilson, 59, of Pawtucket
  • Antonio Martinez, 35, of Pawtucket
  • Ramon Martinez, 35, of Central Falls
  • Frederick Meda, 48, of North Providence
  • George Messier, 75, of Pawtucket
  • Manji Njai, 54, of Pawtucket
  • William Ortas, 29, of Central Falls
  • Franklin Pellot, 24, of Central Falls
  • Alexander Pereira, 27, of Pawtucket
  • Carlos Rodriguez, 34, of Central Falls
  • Momkonjah Smith, 23, of Pawtucket
  • Jorge Solares, 25, of Central Falls

Police say all of the men were arraigned Friday night and released with a summons to appear, except for Momkonjah Smith, who was held as a violator for a previous crime.
