17 displaced after a 3-alarm fire at Woonsocket apartment complex

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — 17 people have been displaced after a three-alarm fire at a Woonsocket apartment complex Thursday.

Woonsocket Fire Chief Paul Shatraw said the fire broke out at the a Rock Ridge Homes complex around 3:15 p.m.
Shatraw said when crews arrived heavy fire was coming from the second floor from one of the buildings.

According to the chief, crews were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, though 9 units were damaged.

He said in total 17 people will be displaced.

The chief said one person suffered a minor injury and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
