18-year-old charged in connection to East Greenwich bank robbery

The East Greenwich Police Department shared these photos of the man they say robbed a bank.

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Greenwich Police Department said a suspect was charged in connection to a bank robbery last week.

According to police, Mark Clements, 18, of Providence was located at a home in East Greenwich.

Clements was charged with second-degree robbery.

Authorities said the suspect in the robbery entered a Bank R.I. on South County Trail, passed a note to a teller demanding money, then fled the scene in a 1993 Subaru Impreza.

Officials said no weapons were used and no injuries were reported.

Police said the incident remains under investigation and no further information was immediately released.
