2-alarm fire cripples home in Tiverton

TIVERTON, R.I. – A 2-alarm fire erupted at a Tiverton home at 32 North Christopher Avenue around 5 p.m. Monday evening.

Firefighters say a neighbor reported seeing smoke and hearing fire alarms sounding from the house.

Upon arrival, crews saw smoke coming out of the windows and searched the home for anyone inside.

Authorities say a small black dog was rescued, and no one was injured.

The house received extensive heat and smoke damage. 

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
