2 Fall River priests put on leave by Diocese

FALL RIVER, MA (WLNE): Two priests have been placed on administrative leave from active priestly ministry, by the Diocese of Fall River. 

This comes after information was gathered during an external review of the Diocese’s personnel files. 

The priests placed on leave are Father Richard E. Degagne, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Easton, and Father Daniel W. Lacroix, co-pastor of St. Joseph-St. Therese, St. Mary, and Our Lady of Fatima Parishes in New Bedford said the Diocese

The information pertains to alleged misconduct, that said to have occurred decades ago.  The Bristol County and Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Offices will be investigating further. 

Both priests have denied the alleged misconduct.
