2 injured after shooting in Providence, police searching for suspect

PROVIDENCE, R.I, (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said two people were injured after a shooting Saturday night.

Police responded near Niantic Avenue where they said they located two victims, a 20-year-old man and 23-year-old woman.

Responders said the man was shot and suffered from serious injuries. The woman was also shot and sustained minor injuries.

The state of the man in critical condition was not immediately available.

No arrests were announced as the investigation remains ongoing.
