2 killed, children hurt after shooting in Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — Two adults were killed and multiple children were hurt after a shooting in Springfield, Massachusetts on Monday, WCVB reports.

Police said a man and a woman were killed in a shooting around 3 p.m. on Berkshire Avenue.

Investigators said they believe the suspect in the shooting is one of the people who died.

“It is preliminary and too early now to give any significant details. I will confirm that there was a number of victims,” said Hampden District Attormey Anthony Gulluni said.

“Some of the victims were minors and they are undergoing care at a nearby hospital,” he said.

Gullini said there is no threat to the public.

The shooting is under investigation.
