2 missing teens rescued from woods in Easton

EASTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Two missing teenagers were rescued from the woods in Easton on Wednesday.

Police were called at about 4:30 p.m. for a report of lost and endangered juveniles in the wooded area in the Hockomock swamp off of Turnpike Street.

Officers set up a command post at Southeastern Regional School where the search started.

Firefighters, K9 units, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Metrolec Team and SEMRECC members also assisted in the search.

Around 7 p.m., the two 16-year-olds were found one mile into the woods behind the railroad bed off of Foundry Street.

Police said the search took nearly two hours due to the terrain.

The boys were suffering from dehydration and were evaluated at the scene, police added.
