23-year-old man killed in motorcycle crash in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) _ State police say a 23-year-old Rhode Island man has died after his motorcycle crashed on Interstate 95 in Providence.

Kerlence Pierre of Cumberland was pronounced dead at a hospital just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police said Pierre was trying to change lanes in slowing traffic when he lost control of the motorcycle and laid it down before hitting the rear of a Ford Escape.

Police said Pierre was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The crash is still being investigated.
