24 Veterans Home Employees Return Positive COVID-19 Tests

BRISTOL, R.I (WLNE) – Two dozen staff members were revealed to have COVID-19 after additional testing in The Rhode Island Veterans Home.

The Rhode Island Veterans Home began additional tests after one resident and one employee tested positive last week.

The Spokesperson for the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, David Levesque said every employee who tested positive has been notified, and they were sent home to quarantine.

Levesque said the veterans home continues to follow isolation instructions from the RI Department of Health, for residents who tested positive, which includes using personal protective equipment.

Residents in quarantine neighborhoods are restricted to their rooms and will receive their meals in their rooms, according to Levesque.
