25,000 Dominican-Americans register to vote in RI
By News Staff
There are 25,000 new Dominican-American voters in Rhode Island.
They registered this year as part of Dominicanos USA’s “Road to 100k” campaign, which aimed to put its community on the political map.
“This is a remarkable milestone for Dominicanos USA,” said Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea. “I applaud their efforts to engage more Rhode Islanders in the civic process.”
The group’s goal was to register Dominican-Americans in New York and Rhode Island. It exceeded its goal, announcing it had registered more than 100,000 people between the two states.
