$25,000 worth of fireworks stolen from Coventry stand

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department said Sunday that a fireworks stand was robbed early Saturday morning.

Lt. Alyssa Cloutier said that the department received a report of theft from the Keystone Fireworks stand on Reservoir Road and Nooseneck Hill Road.

She said that the suspected party broke into a storage container and pod early Saturday morning and stole $25,000 worth of fireworks along with items belonging to the stand workers.

Surveillance video showed a large, dark colored SUV leave the area at the time of the theft.

Cloutier asked that anyone with information on the theft should contact the department at (401) 826-1100.
