2nd victim identified in fatal Cumberland crash

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — Cumberland police have identified the second victim in a fatal car crash earlier this week.
The fatal two-car crash happened Monday on Pine Swamp Road.
On Wednesday, Chief Matthew Benson identified Olga Millette, 57, as the second person killed in the crash. The other person, police said, was 25-year-old Sara Laboissonniere.
Benson said Millette is originally from Blackstone, Massachusetts, but was living in Woonsocket.
Police confirmed to ABC 6 News that Millette was in the car that was involved in a hit-and-run moments before the fatal crash.
The suspected vehicle in the crash was not the vehicle driven driven by Laboissonniere, police said.
Although the chief said they aren’t able to officially confirm yet, he believes speeding might have played a big part in what happened.
“With a collision like this, and the amount of damage, and resulting injury, we’re working on some sort of information that that was part of this,” Benson told ABC 6 News Tuesday.
