3 hospitalized, traffic backed up after 4-car-crash in Berkley
BERKLEY, Mass. (WLNE) — A four-car-crash left three people with serious injuries on Route 24 in Berkley on Thursday.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the two left lanes headed northbound were closed following the crash. The closure is expected to affect traffic “for an extended period,” state police said.
The three injured people were taken to an area hospital for treatment. No update on their conditions was immediately released.
Photographer David Curran captured aerial footage of the scene where four SUVs could be seen all bearing damage to their front-ends and rear-ends.
Pieces of the cars could also be seen strewn about the highway.
Officials said they are still investigating a possible cause for the crash.
This is a developing story and will be updated as information is released.
