PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – 3 employees of the R.I judiciary voluntarily self-quarantined after traveling to or being near coronavirus affected areas abroad or had come in contact with someone who had on Friday.

According to court spokesman, Craig N. Berke, the three employees have no symptoms, but the judiciary continues to monitor court staff that enters the courthouse.

Berke said the state judiciary plans to continue operations in the event of a pandemic, and chief judicial officers of all six courts were briefed and provided guidance for emergency situations.

Court employees were also sent a memorandum to update them on the state court’s efforts to monitor the situation and supplied them with practices for prevention, provided by the Rhode Island Department of Health.
