3 taken to hospital after crash involving ambulance in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash involving an ambulance in Taunton early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened around 4:38 a.m. near Dean Street.

Taunton police said firefighters worked to help free two employees from the ambulance, who were then taken to Rhode Island Hospital. No patients were inside the ambulance at the time of the crash.

The driver of the ford pick-up truck was taken to Good Smartian Hospital in Brockton.

No life threatening injuries are suspected, according to police.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
