30% of Rhode Island State Police recruits quit in first month of academy

FOSTER, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police Maj. John Allen told ABC 6 News Tuesday that 14 of the 47 recruits who entered the state police academy in mid-March have already resigned.
When asked why recruits have decided to resign, State Police Lt. Col. Darnell Weaver said that “everyone has their reason for leaving.”
The department declined any further comment.
