Police investigating gunshot incidents in Pawtucket and Providence

PAWTUCKET, RI (WLNE) – Pawtucket and Providence Police Departments are investigating gunshot incidents that occurred within an hour of each other on Wednesday.  

According to Pawtucket police, they responded to a report of a male with gunshot wounds around 12:41 a.m.

The victim, identified as a 31-year-old male suffered multiple, non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his torso and left arm. 

Pawtucket detectives learned later that another male victim, 23-year-old Anthony Rojas, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds at Miriam Hospital, where it was briefly placed on lockdown. 

Rojas was then transferred to RI Hospital.

At this time, it is unknown if the shooting in Pawtucket involving the 31-year-old male is related to the gunshots heard outside Miriam Hospital where Rojas was found.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
