48 people left without a home after a massive fire breaks out in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, Mass. (WLNE) – Dozens of people are displaced after a massive fire broke out in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood.

The fire was reported around 11:15 a.m. on Fayston Street and quickly spread damaging 5 buildings.

48 people including 16 children are without a home due to the fire.

Three firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A puppy was also rescued from of the buildings and reunited with its owner.

Fire crews say everyone was able to get out safely, but the heat today made battling the flames more difficult.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
