5 sent to hospital after being struck by a car

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Police are currently investigating after a car fled the scene after striking 5 people early Saturday morning. 

According to the Providence Police department, the accident happened around 1:30 a.m,  a driver struck two parked cars in the area of Academy and Chalkstone Avenue. 

This caused the driver to spin and strike 5 pedestrians who were walking in the area. 

Police say the pedestrians were transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
