50 gallons of hydrochloric acid spilled at a Lincoln facility Monday

LINCOLN, RI (WLNE) – 50 gallons of Hydrochloric Acid spilled at a Lincoln manufacturing facility prompting a large hazmat response Monday morning.

It happened at an industrial park on New England Way around 9 a.m. at ChemArt.

Lincoln Police say a tanker delivering Hydrochloric Acid had a pump valve malfunction and about 50 gallons spilled into the ChemArt facility.

According to the RIDEM, the facility is cleaning up the acid and no other businesses were impacted.

No injuries were reported.
