7 displaced after fire in Fall River apartment

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Seven people are displaced after a fire broke out in a multi-family home in Fall River Monday night.

According to the Fall River Fire Department, they received a call for a fire in a bedroom at approximately 6:57 p.m.

When crews arrived to the home on Rock Street, they said they found a fire contained to a bedroom in the second-floor apartment.

Firefighters said they had the fire under control at 7:14 p.m. and checked the third-floor apartment for any extension. The fire was out at approximately 7:28 p.m.

Officials said the Red Cross is assisting the four adults and three children who are displaced from their second and third-floor apartments. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
