8 shot during Boston’s Caribbean Carnival
BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Police say eight people were shot during a Boston Caribbean Carnival celebration in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood, WCVB reports.
Boston police said the shootings happened around 8 a.m. on Talbot Avenue near the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue.
The shooting also happened near the Berkshire Partners Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club.
Boston Emergency Medical Services confirmed it transported seven shooting victims to several area hospitals.
Police said the shooting victims were suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Multiple people have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Multiple firearms have also been recovered.
This year marks the 50th anniversary celebration of the Boston Caribbean Carnival parade.
Mayor Michelle Wu is scheduled to perform a ribbon cutting for the parade at 1 p.m.
