93-year-old dies after crashing truck into house in Johnston

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A truck drove into a building in Johnston Saturday morning.
Police Chief Mark Vieira said that around 11 a.m. a Ford F-150 traveling west on Greenville Avenue veered off the roadway and struck a residence on Greenville Ave.
Vieira said the 93-year-old driver of the truck had a “medical emergency” and was transported to Rhode Island hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The chief said that the cause of death has not yet been determined, and there were no other injuries reported.
He added that the house was inspected and was deemed structurally sound.
ABC 6 News crews on the scene described damage to the building, which contains Stamp Farms, with cleanup still occurring at 4 p.m.
