2 Rhode Island residents arrested after alleged armed robbery

DUXBURY, Mass. (WLNE) — The Duxbury Police Department said two Rhode Island residents are facing charges after a multi-town crime spree on Nov. 30.

Officers responded to Arrowhead Road around 2:30 p.m., where they spoke with a victim who said he was robbed.

According to police, the victim said he was walking down the street when a car with a Rhode Island license plate stopped abruptly in the road.

Police said a man, later identified as Torres, exited the vehicle and went up to the victim with a box cutter.

According to Duxbury police, he then allegedly pressed the box cutter against the victim and “forcibly took” the victim’s Apple watch and jacket.

The suspect then left in a vehicle allegedly driven by Lambert.

During the investigation, police discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Rhode Island.

A BOLO was issued to towns in the area, and the two suspects were later found in Pembroke and arrested.

Fernando Torres was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, threat to commit a crime, assault and battery, and armed assault to rob a person over 60.

Victoria Lambert was charged with accessory after the fact.
