Seekonk police cruiser involved in crash

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Seekonk Police Department said a cruiser was involved in a crash on Highland Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the department, an officer was responding to a disturbance call when the cruiser hydroplaned.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and the cruiser flipped “multiple times” into a parking lot, police said.
Police said the officer was trapped inside the cruiser and had to be freed by firefighters.
They were taken to Rhode Island Hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.”
No other vehicles were involved.

The crash remains under investigation.
