Sunday afternoon the Rehoboth police department responded to a roll over accident on Mason Street.

When officials arrived on scene, a purple Hyundai had collided with a telephone pole and then rolled over onto its roof; the operator of the vehicle was extricated by the fire department.

Officials say 42-year old Korey Lizine of Brockton was transported to RI hospital and listed in critical condition. As of Monday afternoon he was listed in serious condition.

Preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle had been traveling north bound on Mason Street at a very high rate of speed. Skid marks left behind from where Lizine had applied the brakes to where he ended up was approximately 60-100 feet.

The skid marks show that one point the vehicle was completely sideways and cross over into the opposite lane, that's when the vehicle collided with a utility pole and rolled over.

Lizine has been cited for negligent operation of motor vehicle as well as OUI liquor.

He will be summoned into Taunton District Court at a later date.
